Source Selection Criteria

Another important output of the Plan Procurement Management process is the Source Selection Criteria. This is where you decide how you are going to select a potential seller.

Trying to figure out whether or not a seller is appropriate for the project work requires significant planning work. You as the Project Manager are expected to sit down with other important stakeholders and chalk out a criteria which can be as simple as answering some of the basic questions about the seller,

• Is the seller capable of accomplishing the project work?
• Cost of hiring the seller
• Financial status of the seller
• Experience of the seller
• Are there subcontractors involved?
• Technical know-how of the seller

Alternatively, the source selection criteria can also be a list of qualities or expectations that you have from the seller. You can then evaluate seller’s alignment with those expectations
