Before anything, we must clarify that Agile is NOT a methodology. It can be termed as a style of project management, an approach for software delivery but not a methodology.

Properties of Agile

  • Agile is time boxed
  • Iterative in nature
  • Builds software incrementally instead of trying to deliver it all at once near the end

User Stories

Agile works by breaking projects down into little bits of user functionality called user stories

Iterations

User Stories are prioritized and continuously delivered in short two week cycles known as iterations

Finally, you should note that Agile is most often used in software development. Agile project management assumes that the requirements and solutions (deemed necessary at the beginning of the planning and development phase) may change. And the development teams must be able to collaborate and self-organize across departments to respond to the changes
