It should be clear from the topic itself that our discussion is based around the Schedule Management knowledge area. We have already covered a couple of processes of this knowledge area earlier and as we approach the next process which is Sequence Activities, it will be best to do some ground work.

Let’s take a look at three different ways Project Managers make use of to represent the project schedule
1. Milestone Chart
Milestone charts present a very high level project schedule. These are typically used for reporting to senior management

2. Bar Chart (AKA Gantt Chart)
Gantt charts are quite famous. Needless to say some people tend to think the only job of a Project Manager is to prepare a Gantt chart! Gantt charts are typically used to track the project progress and report the status to the project team

3. Network Diagram
Network Diagram is a larger topic and requires individual treatment. We will cover the same in a later article and video. For now it is important to note that network diagrams are typically used to depict project dependencies
