Big changes are coming to the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) exam starting November 8th, 2024. The last day to take the current version of the exam is November 7th, so if you’re preparing, this is your final chance to take the old version. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes:

  1. Exam Domains: The current exam is based on 7 domains, but the new version will be simplified to 4 domains:
    • Mindset
    • Leadership
    • Product
    • Delivery
  2. Eligibility Requirements:
    • Training Hours: The requirement will increase from 21 contact hours of Agile practices training to 28 contact hours.
    • Experience: Candidates will now need 3 years of Agile project experience within the last 5 years, compared to the previous requirement of 8 months of Agile experience.
  3. Exam Format & Pricing:
    • The exam will still be 3 hours long with 120 questions, but expect new question types designed to better assess practical skills.
    • Pricing remains unchanged, and the PDU (Professional Development Units) requirement to maintain your certification is still 30 PDUs.

If you’re just beginning your PMI-ACP preparation, consider waiting until the new format takes effect. For those who are ready, make sure to take the exam before November 7th to avoid any surprises.
