One of the key outputs of the Control Quality process is Quality Control Measurements. Now in the Control Quality process, we were essentially looking out for issues or defects. When you are doing that, you could only get two kinds of outputs,

  1. result of inspection
  2. repair work

Obviously, all the outputs of the Control Quality process fall into those two categories.

It should now be clear that Quality Control Measurements fall in the first category. Its basically the results of all your inspections performed in Control Quality for example, all the defects found, number of test cases executed, passed or failed.

Here’s some food for thought, can you compare this data with previous projects and draw conclusions? Which of the 7 basic quality tools would you use for it?

  1. It was interesting when you said that the outputs of quality control fall into two categories, either “result of inspection” or “repair work.” Now that I think about it, I’d like to learn about the technology used to perform the quality control process and how it’s improved over time. Thanks for discussing this info about the quality control process in a clear way!
